Cyber security Awareness session

Don Bosco Degree College, Moti Nagar, hosted a Cyber Crime Awareness Campaign organized by Borabanda Police Station to strengthen digital safety among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The program was led by Mr. Surendar, Station House Officer (SHO), who shared insights into the cybercrime landscape in Hyderabad. Through impactful videos and real-world case studies, students learned about threats such as phishing, identity theft, and financial fraud. They were also encouraged to install the Crime Simbah App for quick reporting and access to safety resources, with several volunteering to join the police as Cyber Volunteers.
A dedicated session by Lady Police Officer Saritha focused on women’s online safety, addressing issues like cyberstalking and misuse of personal photographs, while highlighting legal protections under IT laws.
The campaign concluded with an interactive Q&A, leaving students better equipped to recognize online risks and fostering a “Cyber-Smart” culture that reflects the college’s commitment to social responsibility and student welfare.
