The Department of Science & Computers organized an industrial visit on 08 December 2025 for B.Sc. II & III (MSCs & MSDs) students to the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to agricultural research, sustainable farming practices, and modern technologies in crop improvement. Students attended an orientation session on ICRISAT’s mission and projects, explored experimental farms with crops like sorghum, millet, chickpea, pigeon pea, and groundnut, and gained laboratory exposure to plant breeding, molecular biology, and soil science. They interacted with scientists on genetic diversity, climate-smart agriculture, and resource management, while demonstrations showcased water management, soil fertility, and digital agriculture tools. Key learnings included the importance of crop improvement for food security, the role of biotechnology and genomics in resilience, sustainable practices such as integrated pest management, and the use of modern tools like GIS and remote sensing. The visit proved highly beneficial, helping students connect theory with practice and inspiring them to pursue careers in agricultural sciences and research.

Don Bosco Degree College, Moti Nagar, hosted a Cyber Crime Awareness Campaign on February 3organized by Borabanda Police Station to strengthen digital safety among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The program was led by Mr. Surendar, Station House Officer (SHO), who shared insights into the cybercrime landscape in Hyderabad. Through impactful videos and real-world case studies, students learned about threats such as phishing, identity theft, and financial fraud. They were also encouraged to install the Crime Simbah App for quick reporting and access to safety resources, with several volunteering to join the police as Cyber Volunteers.
A dedicated session by Lady Police Officer Saritha focused on women’s online safety, addressing issues like cyberstalking and misuse of personal photographs, while highlighting legal protections under IT laws.
The campaign concluded with an interactive Q&A, leaving students better equipped to recognize online risks and fostering a “Cyber-Smart” culture that reflects the college’s commitment to social responsibility and student welfare.

Don Bosco Degree College joyfully celebrated Christmas 2025 on campus, filling the air with festive cheer, music, and togetherness. The event brought together students, faculty, and guests in a vibrant atmosphere of love, unity, and togetherness.
The celebration was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Fr Alex, along with Fr. Thomas Aquanius (Principal) and Mr. Ravi (Vice Principal), whose participation made the occasion truly memorable.
The program began with a prayer song, followed by an inspiring address from the Principal. A Gospel reading by Mr. Ram Babu (B.Sc. 3rd Year) and a special video on the birth of Jesus Christ reminded everyone of the true meaning of Christmas. Students then showcased their talents through melodious Christmas carols and lively dance performances, spreading joy and festive cheer.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Fr Alex, delivered a heartfelt message on the values of Christmas, emphasizing love, peace, and compassion. His words deeply resonated with the audience, adding significance to the celebration.
The event concluded with a spirited performance by Ceana and Sukanya, followed by a vote of thanks by Sony Ma’am, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the program.
